It is suprising but I am still loosing weight even without going to the gym. I opened a new company, Clean Up!. We go to peoples houses and help them organize their life plus work with Realtors getting homes ready to sell. Several of the jobs we have done so far include: helping a widow get rid of stuff that is holding her back (memories), seed & straw a lawn over a filled in swimming pool, cleaned a house for Realtor as a present to buyer prior to move in, unloaded moving truck for the same buyer.
I am excited to see the scale is at 188.4. Glad to see those 180s.
Been getting the garden ready. Planning on enlarging it this year to 67x87. Plus we have 8 new baby chicks and so far they have all lived. This time I have them in fish tanks with lamps keeping the temp at 80-85. Mark has plans to build a chicken house that is better than our own house. lol
Oh yes, I cut my hair. I had been growing it long for the past 3 years and it had gotten down to below my shoulder blades. I just could not stand it, I felt like it made me look older and at 49 older is not how I wanted to look.

I really stuck to low carbs this past weekend and the weight is falling off. I was shocked to not see as much inches lost when I measured on Sat. My weight on Sat morning 194.4, Sun morning 192. Monday morning 191. This is the smallest I have been since 12/08. Got to keep going. I slip everyonce in a while but I figure if I just keep on trucking I will make more progress than if I just give up. Last week I only worked out one day for 3 hrs. Mondays excuse was wanted to have blood pressure tested at dr visit on Tues, Wed did 3 hr workout, Fri excuse was it was going to start snowing and I had to get Bo kerosene.
This week I plan to workout Mon, Wed, Fri but only do 15 min on bike, 15 min treadmill 1 set of reps on each machine. I am looking for the perfect workout that is done in the min amount of time yet gives results.

3 Hour Workout
Yes, I worked out at the gym for 3 hours yesterday. It did not seem like it was that long. When I first got there I started on the bike. 10 minutes into my bike ride one of the ladies that comes everyday came in. She always uses the bike I was riding so, I got off and moved to the treadmill. I was just going to do 10-20 min. and then change machines. But once I got to going I just kept on. Final treadmill results: 65 min, distance 2.76. calories 354, Altitude 322, time in zone 41.26. Then I went back to the bike for 10 more min, the the elliptical 6 min. I thought I was going to have to stop about 3 min into the elliptical but just pushed on, when I got to 5 min Sherry and Gussy started cheering & encouraging me. They were so funny, I felt silly but it really helped. Sherry & I agreed to start a Facebook page for Benefit for Women.
I was down to 192.6 yesterday morning. I notice that the less carbs I eat the more I loose. I did eat more bread yesterday so I would have energy to workout. I had heard somewhere that I should eat carbs prior to working out. "Need to check on that" Plus last night had white beans and cornbread and an orange after working out. Weight this morning 194.0 I am starting to see a small change in my double chin the problem is I think I am getting jowls. Oh No! need to look up tighting cream. lol I also noticed I can see my belly button in the looking glass and the back rolls are going down. Yippee

Buckle Down Now!
Mark is below 160. I am proud of him! I ate like a pig yesterday: hot dog tater tot casserole and a bowl of ceral prior to going to bed. I am at 194.8 this morning. That is a total loss of 8lbs. Which is good but I could have done better if I would just stick to what I should eat and eat when I should. I am working out at the gym 3 times per week 1.5 to 2 hrs at a time. I had gotten down to 193.something when I started to change my eating. Getting back into some bad habits. It does not take much to start putting the lbs back on.

January 21, 2010
Missed a few days posting to the blog. I almost gave up this week. Then I realized that is what I always do & continued on with my program. Because, I know if I quit now I will be mad at myself in a few months. The weight is slowly coming down. I still am not down to my lowest weight of 193.something. I should be there by weigh in on Sunday. It is strange, I will have an upset stomach and the weight will drop the next morning. But, then the next morning it is back up. Then I get frustrated and want to just say forget it. I am up to 5min on the elicp machine with hands. There are times when I think what have I done by telling everyone I would run in the marathon in May. I am not going to quit and I AM going to run/walk that marathon, Lord willing. I am not trying to be funny with the Lord willing part. We are not promised tomorrow or even the next minute.

Catching up.
Today is Thurs, Jan 14, 2010 I have missed blogging for the past few days. I went to the gym on Monday and worked out 20 min on bike, 20 min on treadmill doing hills on both. The treadmill does get my heart rate up better than the bike. I enjoy reading while riding the bike. On Monday I met several of the ladies that come at the same time I do. It really helps to have such a small gym we can all talk to each other no matter what machine we are using. Talking does make the time go by faster.
I missed going to the gym on Tues as our 14 yr old skipped school and I spent the morning tracking him down. Do not know what got into him he has never been one do things like that. It looks like we took a switch to him but he had hid from the police in a briar patch while wearing shorts. It was 16 degrees and all he had on was shorts, tshirt and a hoodie. He was not alone in his "escape" he had 2 other buddies with him. At the time we only knew about one of the other boys. My neighbor was the one to find them hiding in the woods. She told them "they better come on out of those woods, that if she had to come down there and get them they may not come back out." That was when we found out her son was with them.
Wed. did a hard workout. Bike 20 min Treadmill 20 min with hills then 3min 10 sec on elip. including hands "Yippe" I might figure that machine out yet. Did the heaviest weight on each machine I could sometimes dropping down to the lower weight for 2nd rep sometimes raising it for the 2nd reps. I am really sore today, Thurs.

Day 6
I am posting this the morning after Day 6. Yesterday I rode with Tom F. to the yearly planning meeting. It began to snow during the day and by the time we got to Dalton it was getting icy. At the Dalton entrance ramp we saw a car spin and go up into the woods. Then just past that on the left side of the rode we saw a van/suv on it's top. I skidded alittle on Ga2 then again trying to come up the hill at the beginning of our road. They served food at the meeting and nothing low carb or low cal. Breakfast: blue berry muffin, grain/berry bar, cheese danish & cherry danish (2 inch each). Lunch : chicken salad sandwich, lays potato chips, sugar cookie & pickle Supper: fried chicken nuggets, fries, pinto beans & black cherry kool aid. Snack 2 cups low fat low cal strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce (lots). Scale at night was 199 it was at 196 the night before.

Day 5
Here I am at day 5. Boys went back to school today and they are out of school tomorrow because it is suppose to snow. James is back in RMS and is proud that he was missed already has a note from a girl(as he said, on the 1st day back). I am having trouble on the Fat Secret web site. I have joined the Biggest Loser Challenge on that site but can not figure out how to post my workouts.
I worked out at Benefit for Women today. Did 30 min 6.6 miles on bike heart rate was 121 yesterday it was 114, RPM was close to 80 today 74 yesterday, 10 min on treadmill. Did not mean to stop at 10 min but hit the stop button when I was trying to hit the decrease in incline. Increased weights on most of the machines today, also tried to stand on the balance ball and streach on the large clear ball. Made it 1 min 10 sec on elecp with 2 sec using hands.
Fixed eggs and toast for the boys & myself for breakfast. Lunch was tuna salad sandwich left overs from Sun, snack orange, dinner pinto beans, flax seed cornbread with Parkay.
Dr. Ford called and offered me a ride to the meeting in Rome & Atlanta since the Mazda is overheating. I will have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow and exersize tomorrow evening.

Day 4
Joined Ben-E-Fit for Women today. Had bid at Elementary School on 30 day membership. Did 30 min on bicycle 6.7 miles, then did 1 set of 8 reps on each machine, tried the elecpital(sp) could only do 1 min and could not do the arms at the same time. That machine is alot harder than it looks.
I blew it at lunch. I picked up Taco Bell for the boys and Blake did not want his 5 layer burrito. I was getting ready to eat my tuna salad I had made on Sunday. Thought well this burrito is made from beef, beans, cheese and sour cream. Munch Munch I ate the whole thing. It was sooo good and so filling. Then I looked it up on the web: 550 cal 69 carb 1640 sodium. Good thing I worked out this morning.
Breakfast: 2 fried eggs, 1 slice whole wheat bread 50 cal with 1 TBS mayo. Snack: heated apple in micro with 1 cup coffee with heavy whipping cream.

Day 3
Mazda overheated with Mark on the way to work this morning. I took him the Chevy it was 14 degrees and it took over an hour to get the Mazda back to the house. My toes were soooo cold by the time I got home it was late in the afternoon before they finally thawed out.
Today was the first day I went walking by myself. Walked for 38 min from house to pond drive round trip before stomach cramps turned me around. It had warmed up to 27 degrees.
No breakfast because of getting car and having to take Bo to cash his check. I did eat several pork skins Bo had purchased. Lunch pepperoni, string cheese, garlic, ragu on whole wheat torilla wrap with sprinkle of flax seed. Dinner turkey with 1/2c Ragu sauce, flax seed with 1 cup whole wheat spaghetti. Then had another 1/2c spaghetti with little Ceasar garlic butter with extra garlic mixed in. Oh yes, about 30 min before dinner I took the left over soup from yesterday, fished out the brussel sprouts, chicken and broccoli put the remaining liquid into the blender and made like a creamed soup (saw that idea on Oprah today). It was very good.

Day 2
Did well today: breakfast 2 fried in butter eggs with 1 slice whole wheat bread, lunch tuna salad on 2 slices whole wheat bread.
Walked a little futher today 1hr 12 min. carried Mark's "dog basher" iron bar worked arms. I would not really hit a dog hard enough to hurt him unless he just will not let go of my leg. lol It would take a lot for a dog to bite me since I wear 2 pairs of pants, t shirt, sweater, farm coat, hat, scarf & gloves. The dog would prob just laugh himself silly looking at me.

First Walk
While watching the rerun of The Biggest Loser Final last night, I decided to start running. I have never been one to run. Back in 1990 I did walk 40 min everyday for about 6 weeks. I really enjoyed walking and even became addicted and would not miss a daily walk. Then I changed jobs and did not have time to walk during the daytime. I have attempted to exercise from time to time but did not stick to it for longer than 1-2 weeks. This is not a New Years resolution, timing just worked out to be at the beginning of the new year.
Yesterday I did a low carb and lost 3.2 lbs. Today Mark & I walked from the house to GA2 round trip 2.5 miles time 1hr.
Fixed a great tasting soup for supper : 2 cooked chicken tenderloins, 1/2 can garbonzo beans with juice, brussel sprouts, broccoli with water it was cooked in, 3/4 can diced tomatoes, 1 tsp chicken base, 1 tsp butter.
